Tune in Tomorrow (Sept 26th) for motionball’s First Ever Virtual Marathon of Sport!

While COVID-19 has affected us all, Special Olympics athletes are feeling the effects of this global pandemic more than most. Sport programs are suspended, competitions have been cancelled, and many athletes remain stuck indoors, at a greater risk of contracting COVID-19 than the general population.

Now more than ever, the role of motionball events in these athlete’s lives is incredibly important. As one of Special Olympics’ largest funding partners in Canada, motionball has donated over $13M to date, and we can’t stop now.

motionball supporters are dedicated to ensuring that every local club and program can return stronger than before, and that no Special Olympics athlete is left behind.

Tomorrow, Saturday September 26th, marks the first ever nationwide virtual Marathon of Sport!

How can you watch? Tune in at 1PM EST on Sportsnet ONE.

For the most part, you won’t need any equipment to follow along with the motionball Marathon of Sport broadcast! If you would like to complete each sport segment of the broadcast at home, you’ll need:

  • 2 meters of space around you
  • Athletic gear and a water bottle
  • A workout mat
  • Hockey: an opponent, make-shift net, hockey or broom stick, small puck-sized object
  • Basketball: any ball that bounces
  • Something to balance on (foam roller, cushion, etc).

Don’t forget to invite your friends, family and colleagues to tune in! Everyone is welcome!

With your help, we can reach our goal of raising $1M in support of the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, helping ensure that all Special Olympics programs can return stronger than ever, and that no athlete is left behind. Thank you for your ongoing support of motionball!
