In many ways much has changed; in others not so much.
From the servicing desk, to marketing, to new business development , to continuing professional education, to partner, my responsibilities have happily ramped up; but the constant has been the relevance of our services to our clients.
Etherington Generations is in the business of risk mitigation for its corporate and personal clients against the only things that can interrupt an employee’s or executive’s or a CEO’s income: death, disability, accident or retirement.
Whether it be through the employee benefit and pension services or shareholder and key person insurance planning we provide primarily privately held Canadian companies or the estate planning and preservation instruments of life insurance, disability income, critical illness insurance , tax preferred retirement vehicles or philanthropic planned giving for our individual clients – the constant has been that every client has a story, a goal, a dream, a challenge, a setback, a determination and generally speaking a resultant connection as we listen, understand, research and ultimately implement a plan that best suits their stated objectives.
There is a satisfaction in business relationships of duration, in friendships developed and mutual trust earned. Similarly there is a confidence in the knowledge that a Canadian life insurance company has never failed to deliver on its obligations, even when sometimes our role is to expedite the process.
So as I enter my third decade in this spectacular business I thank all those who have believed in me thus far and look forward to all those new relationships ahead.
